I DREAM OF FLOWERS. SEAS OF FLOWERS.
Our daughter, then age 5, was naturally captivated by the 2022 Netflix original, Slumberland and the idea of where we go in our dreams. As parents, we often tell our children about the endless possibilities in this world. But aside from “what do you want to be when you grow up” and “what sport are we playing this season”, I found that this film inspired so much discussion about our own dream lands and where we go every night… when we aren’t really here.
Koa’s love for this movie took us on our own family adventure to make this creative set happen for her. The release of our teaser photo lead to a few questions that The Cosmo Cottage® would like to clear up for you good people of Alabama: YES - the bed was floating- next to a large group of people being baptized in fact. My husband and I carried that floating dream boat across a park as incognito as we possibly could - but we were ultimately discovered by what looked like an entire congregation mid “dip” and possibly the Lord himself. NO - A.I. programs were not used for this shoot or any creative set I produce. All of the flowers are real, 100% sourced. YES - Koa was safe and supervised the whole time. Could she have floated away, also yes, but we were lucky the “tides” worked with our creative flow that day. The only danger during this entire shoot was that our beautiful girl inhaled every prop-waffle that was made while on the floating bed adrift at… lake. No one could stop her. Set sail she did on her own flower barge into the sunset. Now, will the Slumberland shoot be available to our clients and their kiddos? HMMMMM as of now that is undecided. Our liability insurance hardly covered us from our wildlife encounters that day… but it isn’t a hard nnnooo?!?! NO. I am a sucker for throwing my clients in beautiful clothes and tossing them in a large body of water but I will think on that one and get back to you.
For now, I hope you enjoy one of many magical moments we have with our sweet girl in our own botanical adaptation of, Koa’s Slumberland.
